June 7, 2002; Slinger, WI -  Tuesday Night, June 11th Uptown Automotive presents the Miller Lite Rusty Wallace Special at the Slinger Super Speedway. A 75-lap late model feature along with the Midwest Modifieds, Slinger Street Stocks, Figure 8’s, Speedway guest cars and Team Cruiser divisions, are also on the racing agenda as championship points will be awarded in all divisions.

Rusty Wallace of St. Louis, Missouri is a NASCAR Winston Cup Champion and is currently fifth in the Winston Cup point’s standings. Wallace, the 1989 NASCAR Winston Cup Champion, will be visiting the World’s fastest ¼ mile oval on Tuesday June 11th.

Wallace will start the main event and will be available for an autograph session, along with spending time with all season pass holders in the V.I.P. Pavilion. All season pass holders must take their picture id and their season pass to the track office to get a ticket to get them to get into the Pavilion.

Wallace made his racing debut in 1973 at Lakehill Speedway near Valley Park, Mo. He recorded more than 200 feature-race wins from 1974-1978 before joining the United States Auto Club stock car circuit in 1979, where he was rookie of the year. He won the 1983 ASA ACDelco Challenge Series championship and the 1991 IROC title. He was the 1984 Winston Cup Rookie-of-the-Year and the 1989 NASCAR Winston Cup Champion.

Wallace’s Winston Cup car will be on display at Uptown Automotive on Monday June 10th through Tuesday June 11th until 2pm. Fans can take pictures with Wallace’s car and then bring them to the track to be signed by The Winston Cup Champion.

Spectator gates open at 4: 45 p.m. for the Tuesday event with time trials at 5:15 p.m. and racing scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. The Slinger Super Speedway is located ¼ mile West of Highway 41 on Highway 144 in Slinger.
