US Cellular/GO Wireless to Present Fan Appreciation Night! By Weyer / Margetta

August 18, 2002; Slinger, WI -  US Cellular/Go Wireless presents Fan Appreciation Night. See a 60 lap late model feature and a full racing program in the Late Models, Midwest Modifieds, Slinger Stingers, Team Cruisers, Figure 8’s, Port A John Speedway Guest Cars, Spectator races and the Midwest Sportsman cars.

The Midwest Sportsman cars will make their second appearance at the speedway for a full race program. James Swan held off Scott Ascher to score the win on August 11th and both drivers will return. Other drivers scheduled to run at the high banked oval include Bill Prietzel, Bobby Gutknecht, Josh Bauer, Rod Brewe and Shawn Upthall.

The Fox 6 helicopter will land on the infield shortly after 6:30 pm following time trials. Fans will have a chance to get an up close look at the Sky Fox 6 helicopter. To thank the fan’s there will be free giveaways throughout the night along with free beer and soda after the races.

Entries are being accepted for the Spectator 200 lap Enduro and the Compact Special 4 Cylinder Enduro Class which will run 100 laps set for Sunday, September 22 with racing action to start at 2 p. m. The starting line up for the Enduro is determined by the order in which the entry forms are received at the Speedway. Interested novice drivers may find out more information by stopping in or calling the track office at the below number.

Spectator gates for the US Cellular/Go Wireless 60 fan Appreciation night open at 4: 45 p.m. this Sunday with time trials at 5:15 p.m. and racing scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. The Slinger Super Speedway is located ¼ mile West of Highway 41 on Highway 144 in Slinger.
