Slinger Super Speedway raises over $6,500 in relief aid for the Red Cross!

September 26, 2001; Slinger, WI - Slinger Super Speedway is proud to announce that the speedway staff, drivers, race fans, and business owners in attendance on Sunday Night September 16th raised $6505.00 to donate towards the American Red Cross and The International Association of Fire Fighters to aid the many victim's families from the Sept.11 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington.

Many drivers donated there nights winning monies and collected from their crews along with many of the Speedway Staff, Race Fans, and business owners. Bill Behling of Behling Racing Equipment gave a very large cash donation in the name of the entire Slinger Speedway drivers. Slinger Super Speedway also gave a portion of the admission fee towards the funds.
Gary Bohrer from Central Services started the challenge on business owners to give to the funds. Some of the business that took on the challenge includes Sonya Del Camp-Sonya’s Rose floral & gifts, Nathan Skarda- Skarda Top Soil, Pat Heaney-Buddies Racing Equipment, Deangelis Contractors, Brad Mueller Racing, Cindy Peterson Racing team, both D. and C. Morgan Racing teams, King Racing Team, Petersen Mod. Racing, John Lemburger, and Elaine Mueller plus so many more giving people and business helped raise funds.

Many people gave to the American Red Cross and others wanted to give to the Firefighters. On Monday, September 16th a check was given to a representative from the American Red Cross during the Racing Round up Show. Representatives from four local race tracks including Slinger Super Speedway, Hales Corners, Great Lakes Dragaway, and Lake Geneva presented the American Red Cross with checks totaling $10777.88 to help with relief efforts.

Slinger Speedway will also be sending a check to the International Association of Fire Fighters on Monday, September 24th after their final Sunday Afternoon event this weekend. They will be accepting donations at the Speedway track Office through Sunday Night September 23rd.

Slinger Super Speedway thoughts and prayers will be with two of our own fire/EMT’ssafety crew members as they will be leaving to help with the New York Relief Efforts.

Backup Cars and Boat / Trailer race added to Slinger finale!

September 26, 2001; Slinger, WI -  Back up cars have been added to Slinger's line up this Sunday. Plus Spectator 200 Enduro and the New Compact cars/4 Cylinder Enduro Class100-lap event is set for this Sunday, September 23rd with racing action to start at 2 p. m.

Novice Drivers will compete to win the Back Up race at the track as take on the worlds fastest ¼ mile oval driving backwards.

Drivers competing in the Compact Car/4 Cylinder event will win an additional $1000 if they take the checkered flag while pulling a boat and trailer. The starting line up for the Enduro is determined by the order in which the entry forms are received at the Speedway. Interested novice drivers may find out more information by stopping in or calling the track office.

Spectator gates open at noon, for this Sunday’s event with racing scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. This will conclude the 2001 Racing Season for the Speedway.
