National tragedy forces cancellation of race event.

September 9, 2001; Slinger, WI -  The event, which was to have been run this Wednesday evening has been canceled due to the national tragedy of the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington D.C.

The race was to have been Behling Racing presents The Time Warner Race of Champions that was scheduled for Sunday, September 9th at the Slinger Super Speedway is postponed due to inclement weather.

Slinger Speedway Presents the Post Printing
2001 Championships!

Special; Slinger, WI -   This Sunday Night, September 16th, Post Printing presents the Season Championships at the Slinger Super Speedway. The evening, will be highlighted by a 75 lapl ate model feature and full racing program in
the Late Models, Midwest Modifieds, Slinger Stinger Street Stocks, Figure 8’s, Team Cruisers, Speedway Guest cars, and Spectator races. Champions will be crowned in all races as they take their final laps around the world’s fastest ¼ mile oval to end the regular 2001 season.

The night will round out the points battle in all divisions including the close seven-point lead between Al Schill and Lowell Bennett. It will be an event filled evening including honoring the AAL August Driver of the month along with free give-a ways from Slinger Speedway and WOW Distributing. Spectator gates open at 4: 45 p.m. for this Sundays event with time trials at 5:15 p.m. and racing scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Entries are still being taken for the Spectator 200 lap Enduro with a cash prize of $1400 going to the driver that crosses first. The cars will be lined up three abreast and start from a dead stop.

The New Compact Car / 4 Cylinder Class 100 lap Enduro has just added a little twist to this event. Drivers in this event may have a chance to win an additional $1000.00 if they pull a trailer with a boat behind their racer. The drivers who choose to do this must cross the checkered line with the boat and trailer intact. If the driver does not want to pull the trailer and boat and finishes first they will win the original cash prize of $700.00 to win. The Enduro’s are set for Sunday, September 23rd to begin at 2 p. m. The starting line-up for both Enduro’s will be determined by the order in which the entry forms are received at the Speedway.
