Slinger Opener Postponed by Rain!

April 22, 2001; Slinger, WI - A steady rain shower and a forecast for continued rain throughout the afternoon forced the Slinger Super Speedway to postpone it’s scheduled season opening event until next Sunday afternoon, April 29th.

Fox 6 WITI will present the Miller Lite Twin 75's Spring Opener Sunday afternoon with twin 75 lap features for the late models along with action in the Midwest Modified, Slinger Stinger, and Figure 8 divisions. Also a special Speedway Guest Car match race will take place featuring Fox 6 personalities. In addition to the on-track action, fans will receive free giveaways while supplies last when they visit the Fox 6 booth and meet some of the Fox 6 staff at the speedway.

Two-time and defending track champion Lowell Bennett, six-time track champion Conrad Morgan, Brad Mueller, and Al Schill and many more big name drivers will lead a full field of late model competitors as the 2001 season gets underway at the Slinger Super Speedway.

Advance tickets for Fox 6 presents Miller Lite Twin 75's Spring Opener are available at Pioneer Plaza located at Highway’s 41 & 45 in Richfield and at the track office until 12 Noon on April 28th or charge by phone at 262-644-5921. Fans purchasing advance tickets can save $2 off the regular admission price. Children ages 9 and under will be admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Spectator gates open at Noon with time trials at 1 p.m. and racing action set to begin at 2 p.m. Fans can also purchase all Season Passes at the track office, which will save them approximately $84.00 for the whole season.
