June 18, 2000; Slinger, WI - It was deja vu in the Time Warner Scout Night 80 Sunday night at the Slinger Super Speedway as for the second week in a row Donavan Morgan held off his father Conrad Morgan for the late model feature win on Father's Day.

Donavan strikes again! Just one week after his first career Late Model feature win at Slinger Super Speedway, he made his way back to to record his second straight victory. In both events he outran his father, the defending track champ, Conrad Morgan.

Front row starters Toby Rott and John Mueller led a log jam of cars at the front of the field on the start as Al Schill, Brad Mueller, and D. Morgan followed closely behind.  Rott and J. Mueller swapped the lead as the top five ran door handle to door handle until John Mueller spun on lap 21 collecting Brad Mueller and bringing out the caution flag.

Rott led briefly on the restart before Schill darted inside to take the top spot with D. Morgan following into second. C. Morgan and David Prunty dropped Rott to the fifth spot a few laps later and began to close on the leaders.

Father and son then used the outside groove to race around Schill on lap 33 with Donavan taking the lead and Conrad glued to his bumper in second.  The pair   ran nose to tail as Prunty moved into third dropping Schill into a battle for fourth with Lowell Bennett.

It was a very close finish! Donavan Morgan (#99) crosses the finish line a couple feet ahead of his father Conrad Morgan (#92) after 80 laps of feature race action.  Donavan was able to fight off several challenges from his father during the race. 61800a.jpg (17036 bytes)

Conrad was able to move alongside Donavan numerous times as the laps wound down but could not complete the pass as his car appeared to get loose off the corners. Conrad made one last attempt to win on the final lap and drew alongside but Donavan was able to hold off his father to take the win by a half car length.  Prunty finished third and Bennett edged Schill for fourth at the finish.

After wishing his father a happy Father's Day in Victory Lane, D. Morgan acknowledged he had to work hard for the victory. "Last week he (Conrad) wasn't one hundred percent and this week he made some changes and worked for it but we earned it and that's the bottom line."

61800c.jpg (17294 bytes) Current Midwest Modified point leader Dale Prunty (#17) recorded his first feature victory of the young season here at Slinger Super Speedway.

Dale Prunty scored his first Midwest Modified feature victory of the season in  the 30 lap main event. Prunty took the lead on lap four from Brian Holtz on a restart following a caution flag for a Dennis Prunty spin.  From there, Dale Prunty never looked back as he held off Holtz for the win.  Steve Lurvey ran a strong race to finish third ahead of Larry Reihbrandt and Chris Peterson.

Mike Graczkowski took command of the 18 lap Slinger Stinger feature on lap ten  and then held off Brad Hartman for the win. Graczkowski started the event from the sixth position and charged to second by lap three as David Beck held the early lead. Beck continued to hold the top spot until Graczkowski motored his way by while working lapped traffic on lap ten. Hartman also got by Beck to take second four laps later but was unable to catch Graczkowski who took the win.  Dan Jung Jr. finished third while Beck faded to fourth just ahead of Bill Shavlik.

Mike Newlin won the Figure 8 event while the team of Daryl and Craig Adams captured the Team Cruiser race.  Don Zenner took the field in the Speedway Guest Cars and Dave Prest won the Spectator Races in his Volkswagon.
