Current Late Model point leader Lowell Bennett (#2) is joined by Miss Slinger Speedway Jennifer Lynn, and Ritter / Parker Store reps Scott Huston and Tom Savignac after winning the feature event.

Scott Schoeni jumped from the pole position to lead the opening lap before giving way to fellow front row starter Rich Loch on lap two.  Loch began to open up an advantage as Schoeni faded allowing Eric Fransen, Conrad Morgan, and Cindy Peterson to get by and battle for second.  Loch's advantage was erased on lap 23 when an incident between Jerry Mueller and Mike Pascavis in turn four brought out the first caution flag.

Loch continued to lead over Fransen, Morgan, and Peterson on the restart as Brad Mueller and David Prunty worked their way up to the lead cars.  Prunty was clearly the fastest car in the field and he sliced his way by Peterson and Morgan to take over third place just past the halfway mark while Loch continued to lead and claim the $100.00 Mac Tools bonus.  Prunty caught Fransen for second and made an attempt to get by on lap 39 but the two cars made contact in the fourth turn to bring out the second caution flag of the event.  Both drivers were sent to the rear of the field which moved Morgan into second behind Loch as Bennett occupied the third spot ahead of Peterson and Brad Mueller.

The top female Late Model driver in the Midwest, Cindy Peterson (#36) topped the MAC Tools trophy dash this evening.   Peterson has already claimed a feature event and is currently in the top 10 in the Late Model standings. 72300a.jpg (17267 bytes)

Bennett dove to  the inside on the restart and took the second spot from Morgan. Bennett pressured Loch for the lead but could not get by as Loch held his ground while running the outside groove.  The third and final caution flew on lap 49 as Charlie Thon and Chris Rataczyk tangled in the second turn.

Bennett again shot to the inside on the restart and grabbed the lead from Loch on lap 52 as Morgan, Peterson, and Mueller battled for position behind the lead duo.  Once out front, Bennett pulled away to take the win as Loch held off Morgan for second  by less than a car length.  Mueller edged
Peterson to finish fourth with a fast closing Prunty finishing sixth.

John Kruschel (#94) dominated the Midwest Modified feature event this evening as he topped his nearest competitor by a half-lap when the race ended. 72300c.jpg (14111 bytes)

under the checkered and yellow flags as brothers Dennis and Dale Prunty tangled on the backstretch while battling for sixth on the final lap. Steve Lurvey (Dousman) won the Eldorado Trailers Midwest modified trophy dash. Dennis Prunty (Allenton) was the fast qualifier with a lap of 12.410 seconds.

Mike Graczkowski (#2) found the fast way through lapped traffic to win the Slinger Stinger main event this evening.

Mike Graczkowski won a wild Slinger Stinger feature over Bill Shavlik and Dan Jung in an 18 lap event that ran caution free even though numerous single car spins scattered the field.  Lyle Messinger finished fourth just ahead of Scott Ascher as the lead cars took the checkered flag amidst heavy lapped traffic.Graczkowski led at the halfway point in the event netting him the A.P.C. Challenge series money.

Jim Schmittinger won the first 8 lap Stinger heat, while Roger Schmid (Stone Bank) won the second heat race. The Fast qualifier in the division was Bill Shavlik (West Bend) turning a lap of 13.301 seconds.

The figure 8's ran a clean race although one car caught fire to bring out the red flag. Resuming the activities, Mike Newlin claimed the victory with a clean sweep. The two Team cruiser heats were won by Rob and Bryan Meyers and Dan and Mark Jung as they avoided flying tires to win the second heat.
