Cindy Peterson (#36) scored her first Late Model victory of the season here at Slinger Super Speedway.

Peterson started from the pole position and quickly jumped out to the early lead as fellow front row starter Toby Rott fell behind into second ahead of Al Schill, Conrad Morgan, and Brad Mueller. Peterson immediately began to pull away to a twelve car length lead as Morgan, Mueller, and Lowell Bennet dropkicked Schill out of the top five on lap 15. Bennett passed Mueller for fourth a few laps later just before Peterson’s advantage was erased on lap 20 when the first caution flew when Charlie Thon Jr. impacted the backstretch wall.

Peterson continued to pull away on the restart as Morgan and Bennett pressured Rott for the second spot. After several attempts to get by, Morgan and Bennett lined up nose to tail with Rott and the trio began to reel in Peterson as she approached lapped traffic. Peterson disposed of the lapped cars without a problem and as the other lead cars caught them, Bennett used the traffic to sneak around Morgan for third. Bennett then made his way around Rott for second but a Tom Hromadka spin negated the pass as the field was put under caution before the lap could be completed.

Once again, Peterson was not phased by the slowdown and shot out to big lead on the restart as Bennett and Morgan worked their way inside Rott and moved him back to fourth. Peterson drove away to a fifteen car length advantage as Bennett and Morgan battled side by side for second as the laps wound down. Peterson cruised to the win while Bennett held off Morgan for second. Donavan Morgan, the feature winner the last two weeks, finished fourth while Rott took the checkered flag in fifth.

Donavan Morgan bested the 8 cars in the 8 lap Mac Tools Trophy Dash and David Prunty turned fist time with a lap of 11.584 seconds on the "Worlds fastest 1/4 mile oval"

Back in the groove!   After a disappointing DNF last week, Prunty rebounded and scored his fourth Midwest Modified feature victory of the 2000 season.  Prunty also lead the field in qualifying with a 12.488 second tour of the high-banked quarter-mile oval. 62500b.jpg (16430 bytes)

Dennis Prunty drove off to set fast time with 12.448 seconds and claimed his fourth feature win of the season in the 30 lap Midwest Modified feature. Prunty started the event in the eighth spot and sliced his way through the field as Steve Lurvey raced out to the early lead. Prunty ran Lurvey down and used the outer groove to take the lead on lap 16. Prunty drove away to the win as Lurvey held off John Kruschel for second. Brian Holtz and Chris Peterson rounded out the top five.

David Beck (#46) topped the Slinger Stinger feature after an exciting finish!

David Beck and Brad Hartman staged a hard fought battle for the lead in the Slinger Stinger 18 lap feature before Hartman became tangled with a lapped car with two laps to go. Beck then drove to the victory over Aaron Bitzan and Bill Shavlik who set fast time at 13.332 seconds, to follow Rich Wagner and Dan Jung rounding out the top five.

Bruce and Sam Wright teamed up to claimed the checkered in the Team Cruiser division, with Dean Vandusen winning the Suburban Motors Speedway guest car event. The night rounded out with Luke Schrab winning the Spectator Race, and the Figure eights grand finale was won by Willy Van Camp.
